Notice and takedown

Benchy reads every report about a listing on World, and a person decides every takedown.

Tell Benchy about a listing

If a listing on World uses something you hold the rights to, open it and choose Report model. Pick Copyright or licensing or Trademark or impersonation, then say in up to 2,000 characters which file or picture is yours, what right you hold, and where your own work can be seen. Choose Send report. Reporting takes a Benchy account, and you can send 20 reports an hour.

A single comment or make has its own Report. You cannot report your own listing, and reporting the same thing twice adds to the report you already have open rather than starting a second one, so put anything new in a reply to Benchy instead of in a fresh report.

Without a Benchy account, write to abuse@benchy.studio with the address of the listing and the same details. That address is Benchy’s abuse and appeal contact, and it is where a notice from a rightsholder, or an agent acting for one, reaches the moderation team.

What Benchy does with it

A report hides nothing on its own. A moderator reads it and decides, and you are told which way it went.

Held for review
The listing leaves search, browse and every rail, and its page stops answering for everyone but its creator, who sees Held for review in its place. Its 3D preview and its downloads stop with it. Automated file and picture checks can put a listing here by themselves; they can never take one down.
Taken down
The listing is removed with the reason written against it. Every download already granted for it stops on its next request, and the pages, the model API and the sitemaps that had it are expired by the same change that removed it, rather than waiting for a cache to age out.
Dismissed
The listing stays as it is, and you are told the report was reviewed and dismissed.

If it is your listing

A hold or a takedown arrives with its reason in Reports and appeals. Choose Appeal this decision and answer it: up to 5,000 characters, and up to 5 links over https of 500 characters each — a licence, a receipt, the file you started from, or your own earlier publication of it.

One appeal is open per listing at a time, and you can send 5 in 24 hours across all of yours. A moderator answers with a written note, which you get as a notification. An accepted appeal puts the listing back in search, on your profile and in the collections it was in, exactly as it was. A rejected one leaves it down and says why.

Appeal while there is something to put back. A removed listing and its files are kept 7 days and then erased for good, and after that neither an appeal nor Benchy can restore it.

Separately from any one listing: when Benchy bans an account, every listing of theirs that another person could still see comes off World for as long as the ban stands, and lifting the ban puts back exactly those, with the visibility each one had.

Who reads this

Benchy's moderation team, at the one address.

abuse@benchy.studio reaches the people who decide. Reports and appeals are both worked oldest first, so nothing waits behind something that arrived after it, and whoever sent one is told the outcome — in the product if they have an account, by reply if they wrote in. Every decision is recorded against the moderator who made it.

Reporting a listing is not the same as reporting a website published with Benchy. For a website, write to the same address with the full address of the page.
