The Print planning plugin

Print planning is Benchy's own plugin, installed in every workspace. It gives Benchy skills and tools to measure a print, try better settings, check the result, and split work across several printers. Run it from a chat with /print-planning, or just ask: “Print these six parts on our two printers by Friday.”

Plan a print batch

1. Point Benchy at the parts: 3MF print projects or models in the project, with @.
2. Choose the printers, from the workspace's printer profiles, and anything that matters: deadline, material, strength, colour.
3. Benchy measures each part with the slicer, tries changes that save time or material, and keeps only the ones that pass every check.
4. It lays the parts out on plates, assigns plates to printers, and writes the print batch.

Checks

A result counts only if every print file passes these checks:

Each check is recorded against the exact file it checked. A batch is marked Checked only when every file in it has passed.

What you get

A print batch is a folder in the project's Made by Benchy folder: one print file per printer and a report with the plate plan, the schedule, time and material estimates, and each file's check results.
