Starters
Start a project from a ready-made one, with its files, brief, skills, Elements and plugins in place.
What's in a starter
A starter is a ready-made project for one kind of work, such as “Product photos for a shop”, “Print a replacement part”, or “Launch a print-on-demand model”. It contains:
- a folder tree with any example or template files;
- a
BENCHY.mdbrief that says how to use it; - the skills and Elements it relies on;
- the plugins and connections it needs, shown as tags.
Use a starter
Choose Use starter from the workspace's library or from the Community on World. Benchy makes a new project from it, adds its skills and Elements to the workspace, and lists anything still missing, such as a plugin to install or an account to connect, with a button for each.
The new project is yours. Changing it never changes the starter, and later changes to the starter never change your project.
Make a starter from a project
Choose Save as starter on a project. Pick which files to include, and Benchy collects the skills, Elements, plugins and connections the project uses. Keep the starter in the workspace for your team, or publish it to the Community with a license.
Versions
A starter keeps versions. Publishing changes makes a new version; projects already made from it stay as they are.
